How can I book an escape room?

When are you open, and what are your operating hours?

We are open year ’round, even during haunted house season.*

  • Thursday: 3:30pm-9pm
  • Friday: 5pm-10:30pm
  • Saturday: 5pm-10:30pm
  • Sunday-Wednesday: By special request only.

*Except Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. However, we operate by appointment/advanced booking only and are staffed accordingly.

Is there an age limit?

We recommend our games for ages 12 and up. We do allow younger players, but some of the game content may be too difficult for them. Players that are 14 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. Any participants under the age of 18 will need an adult to sign their waiver.

Is it scary?

Our escape rooms are highly detailed and themed to a mature level. However, none of the rooms are scary. There are emergency exit buttons available should any player wish to exit a room before it is finished.

How long before my scheduled time do I need to arrive?

Please plan to arrive at LEAST 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Your room timer will begin no more than 5 minutes after your scheduled time whether or not you are here (barring emergencies or our own error.) If you arrive after that time, you will NOT get the full 60 minutes to play the game.

Customers arriving 15+ minutes LATER than their scheduled time (without notifying us at 234-281-3037 with a legitimate reason) will have all tickets voided and will not be admitted into the game.

How many people can play in an escape room?

All rooms at Escape Akron can hold 4-8 players.  We don’t recommend it, but if you’d like to play with more than 8 or less than 4, email us at escapeakron@gmail.com with your request.

If I am late, can I still play?

If you arrive after the time on your ticket, and the game has begun, you will not be able to participate as it would disrupt the game for the other players in that time slot. If your group is going to be late for your scheduled time slot, or you will not be able to make it, please call us at (234) 281-3037 to let us know. If you give us notice, we WILL allow you to reschedule your room. If your entire group has not arrived within 15 minutes after your scheduled time, and you have not given notice, your time slot will be forfeited and tickets voided. However, our policy is absolutely no refunds.

Will I be playing the game with people I don't know?

Perhaps. We recommend you play the games with your own group. If your group is small, you may be matched up with people you do not know. Don’t worry, this can actually make your experience more fun. The only way to ensure that your group is alone in a room is to purchase all available tickets for that room & time slot or check the “private event” box on our ticketing page.

Will I actually be locked in a room?

Yes and no. The room will be locked at the start of the game, however, an emergency exit/panic button is located by the door in the event you must exit the room and the entrance doors for both of our games are always unlocked. Please alert your game master if this causes you any anxiety or discomfort.

Are there any dangers for guests with epilepsy?

Yes. Some rooms may contain flickering lights that have triggered seizures in customers previously. If you suffer from epilepsy or any other disorder that may be affected by this, please alert your game master before the game begins.

What should I wear?

Please dress to escape. We recommend clothes and shoes that are comfortable to bend, reach, sit, and move around in. Heels, open-toed shoes, and dresses are not recommended.

What if I, or someone else in my party, is "drunk" or "under the influence?"

We reserve the right to refuse service to any parties we deem as a danger to other guests or our employees. If you or anyone else in your group arrives overly intoxicated or otherwise afflicted, you will not be permitted to play.

Do you sell gift certificates or gift cards?

We do sell gift vouchers in increments of $26, $52, and $104. They are available for purchase by clicking HERE.

Can I book a corporate or team-building event at your facility?

YES! We love doing corporate events here at Escape Akron. There are two (2) different conference rooms available for rent, as well as discounted escape room pricing for corporate groups who make use of those rooms. Escape rooms can be a fabulous tool for encouraging teamwork among employees, and, if you book your event at Escape Akron, you’d be joining many other influential companies from Northeast Ohio. Do you offer refunds?

We will issue refunds ONLY if you cancel your booking more than 24 hours prior to your scheduled time. We DO NOT issue refunds for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, or for No-Shows. We also DO NOT issue refunds for unused seats if you show up with less than the amount of people that you initially paid for.
